WelcomeMe didn’t start with a product roadmap. It started with a question: why, in a world of platforms for every human need, is arriving somewhere new still one of the hardest and most dangerous things a person can do? We began with conversations.
People telling us what the first months actually felt like — the rental that turned out to be fake, the job that paid half what was promised, the city full of people where no one knew their name. The more people we listened to, the clearer it became: the same things kept failing, for the same reasons, regardless of where people came from or why they had moved.
When we looked at the research, it confirmed it. Across 25+ countries, the OECD, IOM, UNHCR and World Bank document the same consistent pattern — fragmentation, fraud, loneliness, and a settlement system built around administrative categories and products rather than around what arriving people actually need.
WelcomeMe is a single, verified platform built to address all of it — because the feeling of home doesn’t come from solving any one of these things. It comes from all of them working together, and understands the persepective of migrants and newcomers.
Chirag Lodhia founded WelcomeMe with one ambition: to make sure that anyone, anywhere in the world, can find belonging — no matter where they come from or where they land. His family has moved across five regions of the world for three generations, and a career spent working, living and travelling across 60+ countries in healthcare, digital transformation, education, international development and creative media has shown him first-hand what happens when complex systems fail the people they were supposed to serve. WelcomeMe is where every thread of that experience comes together.

He understands that isolation, loneliness, and disconnection are not just personal struggles — they are growing social health crises, made worse when the world moves faster than the systems designed to hold it together.
